FoodMate Score of the food
This is a score for the food on its own, by its composition per 100 g, using the same formula the app applies to a meal. On a plate with other foods the result will differ: buckwheat with vegetables scores higher than buckwheat alone.

How many calories are in cream cheese
Cream cheese is mostly fat: about 236 kcal per 100 g, 22 g of fat, 6.5 g of protein and 3 g of carbs. Brands differ, from 210 to 280 kcal, so check the label. A tablespoon weighs about 20 g and gives 47 kcal, a teaspoon about 8 g and 19 kcal. A 140 g tub is 330 kcal.
Cream cheese and cottage cheese: the difference
Despite the name used in Russian, cream cheese is closer to butter than to cottage cheese. 5% cottage cheese has 17 g of protein and 5 g of fat per 100 g, cream cheese the opposite: 6-7 g of protein and over 20 g of fat. So it does not work as a protein source, but it works well as a spread instead of butter: it has three times fewer calories than butter.
Sandwich and crispbread with cream cheese
A 30 g slice of bread with a spoon of cream cheese is about 121 kcal, with a slice of lightly salted salmon 163. A 10 g rye crispbread with a thin 15 g layer of cheese is only 67 kcal, one of the lightest snacks. Adding cucumber, tomato or herbs adds almost no calories and makes the sandwich more filling.
Light cream cheese
Reduced-fat cream cheeses have about 140-160 kcal per 100 g: roughly half the fat and slightly more protein. It is a good compromise for weight loss if cream cheese is a daily habit. Check the ingredients: sometimes the lower fat is compensated with starch and thickeners, but that barely affects the calories.
How to count your serving
Weigh the cheese or count by spoons: 47 kcal per tablespoon and 19 per teaspoon. If the cheese is in rolls, cheesecake or on a sandwich with fish, take a photo in MyFoodMate AI and the app counts everything together.
