FoodMate Score of the food
This is a score for the food on its own, by its composition per 100 g, using the same formula the app applies to a meal. On a plate with other foods the result will differ: buckwheat with vegetables scores higher than buckwheat alone.

How many calories are in one tangerine
A medium tangerine weighs 90-100 g with the peel and has about 75 g of flesh: 29 kcal, almost 6 g of carbs and 1.4 g of fiber. A small one gives about 19 kcal, a large one 38. Clementines and sweet varieties are higher, about 47 kcal per 100 g, but even then one fruit rarely goes over 40 kcal. The peel is about 20% of a tangerine and is not counted.
A kilogram of tangerines
Tangerines are easy to eat by the handful, especially in December. A kilogram of tangerines with the peel is about 800 g of flesh and 304 kcal, like a decent lunch. Five tangerines in an evening are about 145 kcal, almost a chocolate bar, but with vitamin C and fiber. So tangerines do not get in the way of weight loss unless you eat kilograms of them every day.
Tangerine juice and peel
A glass of tangerine juice is about 86 kcal, the juice of five or six tangerines, but without fiber it is much less filling. Tangerine peel is higher in calories than the flesh, about 97 kcal per 100 g, with lots of essential oils and fiber. It is used as zest or dried for tea, and in such amounts it barely affects the calories.
Vitamin C and tangerines for weight loss
One tangerine gives about a quarter of the daily vitamin C, three give almost all of it. For weight loss tangerines are a handy sweet snack that needs no cutting: 29 kcal each. Just make sure a handful does not turn into a bag. Tangerines often cause reactions in people with citrus allergies, especially children.
How to count your serving
Count by the piece, about 29 kcal per medium tangerine, or weigh them peeled and multiply by 0.38. If the tangerines are in a salad or dessert, take a photo in MyFoodMate AI and the app counts everything together.
