FoodMate Score of the food
This is a score for the food on its own, by its composition per 100 g, using the same formula the app applies to a meal. On a plate with other foods the result will differ: buckwheat with vegetables scores higher than buckwheat alone.

How many calories are in one quail egg
A quail egg weighs 10-12 g in the shell and about 10 g without it, which is 17 kcal, 1.2 g of protein and 1.3 g of fat. Per 100 g it is 168 kcal, slightly more than chicken eggs, because the yolk takes up a larger share of a quail egg. Five quail eggs weigh about 50 g and give 84 kcal, almost like one medium chicken egg.
Boiled and fried
Like chicken eggs, quail eggs do not change calories when boiled: a boiled egg is the same 17 kcal. They take 2-3 minutes soft-boiled and 4-5 minutes hard-boiled. Five quail eggs fried in oil come to about 124 kcal, as some oil stays on the whites. In salads quail eggs are handy halved: ten of them add 168 kcal.
Quail or chicken
In calories and protein per 100 g, quail and chicken eggs are almost the same. Quail eggs have slightly more vitamins B2 and B12, iron and choline per gram, but the difference is small and the price several times higher. Quail eggs have no special healing properties. People choose them for size: handy in salads, snacks and for children.
Quail eggs for weight loss
Five quail eggs for breakfast are 84 kcal and 6 g of protein, not quite enough to stay full, so they are better with vegetables or whole grain bread. Boiled eggs are handy to take along as a snack. Like chicken eggs, quail eggs should not be eaten raw because of the risk of salmonella.
How to count your serving
Count by the piece, about 17 kcal per egg, or weigh them shelled and multiply by 1.68. If the eggs are in a salad or appetizer, take a photo in MyFoodMate AI and the app counts everything together.
